Course Info

In this course, Professor Pinchas Shir will take his students on a fascinating and insightful journey through the development of Rabbinic Judaism. This course will introduce you to the main ideas within Rabbinic Judaism and acquaint you with the power brokers who shaped this movement.

Even though much of Rabbinic Judaism comes much after the time of Jesus, some traditions clearly trace back to the first century and beyond. This course will help you make sense of many difficult-to-understand teachings in the gospels – teachings that were originally set against the background of proto-rabbinic debates and teachings. Enroll now and get equipped to interpret the ancient Scriptures of Israel creatively and responsibly.
