Members of our learning community will develop an understanding of the historical background of these Hebrew prayers and songs, how they functioned in the life of the ancient Israelites, and how the psalmists’ messages provide you and I today with exciting theological insights unseen in most English translations.
“Professor Schaser. Once again I have been blessed by the quality of your teaching and fine scholarship. I appreciate your enthusiasm and your readiness to answer questions as well your attentiveness to ensure that anyone who doesn’t have a complete background is not left behind. Additionally, the way you re-explain and recapitulate past concepts in order to clarify new concepts and ideas has added much value to the learning. Thank you and God bless.” – Patricia Thomas

“Prof. Schaser, thank you so much for this course. You gave me a new perspective on Psalms. We usually read them just thinking of them as songs of praise. Your course has shown me that in fact the entire scripture is encompassed within the Psalms.” – Jacobus Gouws
