Dr. Eliyahu Lizorkin-Eyzenberg serves as the president of the Israel Study Center/Israel Bible Center. His recent book, The Jewish Gospel of John: Discovering Jesus, King of All Israel, has been read by thousands of people since its publication one year ago. His other books are also available through his author’s page.
Dr. Eliyahu Lizorkin-Eyzenberg holds an M.Div. degree in Christian Theology from the Reformed Theological Seminary (2000), and an M.Phil. degree in Bible Interpretation (2008) as well as a Ph.D. degree in Ancient Cultures from Stellenbosch University (2011). His dissertation on the fourth-century Jewish-Christian polemic in Persia (now modern Iran) was entitled Aphrahat’s Demonstrations. Since then, Dr. Lizorkin-Eyzenberg has focused most of his attention on New Testament research; recovering its various contexts and cultural backgrounds without which it is not possible to understand the true meanings of the sacred words. He regularly lectures in colleges and universities in Israel and abroad. One of his greatest passions is building bridges of trust, respect and understanding between Christians and Jews; and overcoming centuries of difficult, but almost always joined history. He does not think the New Testament needs to be rewritten, but that it needs to be reread. He lives with his wife Marina and their children in a small village outside of Tel Aviv, Israel.
