Acts 15: Are Gentiles Allowed in the Church?
April 2, 2021 - 24:50 | Ep. 14
Professor Pinchas Shir contextualizes one of the most challenging issues of the early church. How do gentiles join the Jews in following Jesus? What role does the Apostle Paul play in this conversation? We also discuss what cultural risks gentiles took to follow Jesus.
Episode Notes
How is the message about a God who made covenants with a particular people in a particular land move into the gentile world? This was a perplexing issue for the early church, and the early Jewish leaders used the book of Leviticus to help solve the problem. The Apostle Paul was actively involved in sharing the gospel with the gentile world, and to understand his theology we need to understand the context of the churches.
