How did we get here? Who created the universe and why? How should we perceive and grasp the world around us?
Humanity has pondered such fundamental questions since the very Beginning. Ancient Hebrews/Jews, Greeks, and Romans recorded many and varied reflections on the origin and nature of our world.
Their thoughts are essential aspects of the historical, cultural, and intellectual background of the Second Temple Period. Without this background we would be lost (and many still are!) when interpreting the “New Testament,” Philo, Josephus, and other key Jewish writings of the first century.
The discussion will be hosted by Dr. Yeshaya Gruber and will feature Profs. Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg, Cyndi Parker, Nicholas Schaser, and Pinchas Shir.
This roundtable talk will be available later in 2021.
