Roundtable Talk Preview
André LaCocque is professor emeritus of Hebrew Scriptures at the Chicago Theological Seminary and the founder of its Center for Jewish-Christian Studies (now the Center for Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Studies). His many books include: Jesus the Central Jew: His Times and His People; The Trial of Innocence: Adam, Eve, and the Yahwist; and most recently Work and Creativity: A Philosophical Study from Creation to Postmodernity. In this weighty and heartfelt discussion with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, Dr. LaCocque shares his understanding of what makes us human, how we can connect with the divine, and how both creativity and mind/soul-numbing drudgery shape our world.
This was one of Prof. LaCocque’s last appearances before he passed away in January 2022 (ז״ל). See also his Roundtable Talk on “Biblical Work and the Jewish Jesus.”
