Roundtable Talk Preview with Dr. Israel Knohl
Dr. Israel Knohl is the Yehezkel Kaufmann Professor of Bible at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Senior Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. His book The Messiah Before Jesus: The Suffering Servant of the Dead Sea Scrolls expounds the theory that Jewish culture already included the concept of a suffering and resurrected messiah prior to Jesus of Nazareth. His most recent book is The Messiah Controversy: For Whom are Jews Waiting? In this spirited conversation with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, Prof. Knohl explains revolutionary insights into the evolution of messianic ideas through the pages of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and later Jewish and Christian traditions.
