Torbjørn Herlof Andersen is a professor emeritus of health sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, as well as the lay pastor of a congregation of mostly Myanmarese emigrants. He has researched and written extensively on sexual and other abuse of male victims, on traditional views of manliness, and on overcoming abuse. In this conversation with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, Dr. Andersen considers the intersections of religious and sexual abuse, Biblical accounts of damaging sexual behavior, and why it is important to overcome stereotypes in order to achieve freedom.
