Roundtable Talk Preview
Dr. Ian Young (associate professor of Classical Hebrew and Biblical Studies at the University of Sydney) is a specialist in the language, variants, and dating of the texts of the Hebrew Bible. In this deeply instructive conversation with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, he explains the extent of textual fluidity in Daniel and Samuel, the reasons for such realities in witnesses of the Hebrew Bible, and the implications for theological exegesis and readers today. Dr. Young’s publications include the co-authored Historical Linguistics and Biblical Hebrew: Steps Toward an Integrated Approach and “Ancient Hebrew Without Authors.” He is currently working on a textual and linguistic commentary on the Book of Daniel.
