Michael S. Heiser earned his PhD in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and taught at the college level for twelve years before accepting a position at Logos Bible Software, where he holds the position of Scholar-in-Residence. He has also published widely in scholarly journals and is the best-selling author of books including “The Unseen Realm: Recovering the Supernatural Worldview of the Bible” (Lexham, 2015); “Supernatural: What The Bible Teaches About The Unseen World and Why It Matters” (Lexham, 2015), and the upcoming “Angels: What The Bible Really Says About the Heavenly Host” (Lexham, 2018). Dr. Heiser runs the popular Naked Bible Podcast., in which he discusses biblical interpretation, answers listener questions, and presents academic information in a way that is accessible to the non-scholar. This Roundtable talk is a dialogue about his book, “The Unseen Realm: Recovering the Supernatural Worldview of the Bible.” Dr. Heiser addresses the notion of many gods in the Bible, monotheism vs. henotheism, what happened at Babel, the identity of the serpent, and the embodiment of divine beings.
