Dr. Adele Reinhartz is Professor of Classics and Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa, as well as the current vice-president and president-elect of the Society of Biblical Literature. She has authored numerous articles and several books, including: Cast Out of the Covenant: Jews and Anti-Judaism in the Gospel of John; Caiaphas the High Priest; and Jesus of Hollywood. In this provocative conversation with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, Dr. Reinhartz explains why she has come to view the Gospel of John as fundamentally anti-Jewish in orientation, the historical circumstances that could have motivated this approach, and other deep questions related to Jewish and Christian communities of the first century.
